About me

I have worked as a nurse for 40 years, almost 35 of those in Oncology. I have excellent clinical, assessment, decision making and planning skills creating personalised management plans with patients/clients. I am an adept organiser, teacher and coach, having undertaken additional training in the NHS. I have developed & presented educational materials to colleagues and patients in various formats. I have facilitated focus groups, patient support groups and chaired national and local meetings, in person and online. I am a highly skilled communicator in particular when dealing with difficult conversations. I have worked for many years in leadership and management roles dealing with complex situations. I have Foundation, Sage and Thyme & Advanced communication skills together with being a workshop facilitator for both methods of training. I am a skilled lymphoedema Practitioner with many years experience and more recently trained as a cancer massage therapist. In addition, I am a qualified Level 2 fitness instructor, previously taking post operative breast cancer patients on a 6 week rehabilitation course of Nordic walking with fabulous results. I am also a British Cycling group leader aimed to encourage more people to ride.
