Experience

Pro dancer 2004 to 2009 Management: leisure, retail finance, operations 2009 to 2018 Pilates instructor: Bodyism at Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi (2019 to 2020) Complete Pilates (2021) Core Kensington (2021 to 2022) Bodies Under Construction (since 2021)

About me

I was a professional dancer and assistant choreographer in my youth, working with artists and brands like Adidas. I stopped dancing in 2009. After practicing Pilates for 14 years, I qualified as an instructor in 2018 and it immediately became a career. While working in Abu Dhabi in 2019, I was in a serious car accident and I woke up in an ICU with many fractures and a serious head trauma. I studied in order to do my own rehab, and I managed to achieve an almost complete recovery in less than 5 years; even though I now live with a brain injury. Some say that I’m the living proof that what I teach works! After my return to London in 2020 I turned towards the clinical side of Pilates and worked at Complete Pilates before finding my teaching home at Bodies Under Construction, now Six Physio. Since 2021 I’ve gained US certifications in applied neuroscience and I now incorporate neuro-training within Pilates, helping my clients to reach their goal faster, with more ease, and with longer lasting results. My own journey has given me a special interest in neurological conditions, in particular TBIs and concussions.

Q&A

  • The best piece of advice you've ever been given is…

    Whatever happens, don’t give up.

  • What’s the best pizza you’ve ever had and where?

I like to be different so I’m going to say Manakeesh, the Lebanese version of pizza that I got to try while living in the UAE!

  • What do you think you do better than 90% of people?

    Resilience and developing adaptative strategies

  • What's your go-to karaoke song?

I’m not much of a Karaoke person as I used to sing as well as dance professionally, but my best memory was singing Stand By Me during an acoustic gig, with no previous rehearsal!

  • What would you do if you had 2 days paid to rest and recuperate?

Study! I’m a bit of a geek, and I love watching interesting documentaries and courses on subjects like History, Archeology, Science, etc… I had a lot of fun last summer taking an online course from MIT about biochemistry and genetics!
