Experience

Clinical work in private practices covering all things massage, injury assessment and treatment, exercise rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, disability and back care classes, running events, and weekend workshops. I have worked with various rugby clubs over the years and was lead therapist with Poole RFC for two seasons.

About me

My work experience included taster days at local hospitals and shadowing in private clinics across Poole and Bournemouth. After working in private practice in Bournemouth I moved to a sports injury clinic in Eastleigh where I trained in instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilisation and video-assisted biomechanical assessments. I led regular workshops on foam rolling and supervised group rehabilitation in a private gym setting alongside my regular day to day of assessing and treating injuries. I then joined BWT Physio which involved working in the community, leading disability and neuro rehabilitation classes, sports massage, gym-based strength and conditioning, shockwave and laser therapy, injury assessment and treatment, and I continued to expand my gait analysis service for runners. After a few years I underwent further training in diagnostic ultrasound and have been developing my skill set ever since.

What do you think you do better than 90% of people?

Perseverance; if I set my mind to something I tend to employ a stubborn adherence to a plan to achieve that goal.

What would you do if you had 2 days paid to rest and recuperate?

I'd be out on the coast, walking and running the hills, finished off with a wild camp & a coffee with the sunrise.
