Gemma Hilton’s top tip: Measure minutes not miles

Says Six Physio running guru, Gemma Hilton
There’s an old saying among running circles that states ‘look after the minutes and the miles will look after themselves’, and it couldn’t be truer. Don’t burden yourself with thoughts of how you should be increasing the mileage week-on-week. Instead, just think about the amount of time you spend running and go out for a quick 20- or 60-minute session. Timed runs can
seem a lot more achievable than plugging  through the miles, and it’s often easier to bust out an extra minute or two at the end of a run than jog another mile.
