Abbas Defiantly. But, the cause rather than the symptoms need dealing with. Your ribs move too much at their attachment to your sternum, hence the irritation and inflammation. This happens because you don't have enough flexibility in your thoracic spine. Every time you take a breath in, your stiff thoracic spine make the sternal attachment of your ribs move excessively and become irritated.... Get you thoracic spine moving more - a Physio should be pretty competent at this. The Guru Six Physio
