Hi there . I went hiking this weekend and resulted in a knee soreness that seems to be IT related. I am wondering if it is still IT or did I am I getting old and the cartridge was torn? How would I know? How do I treat a sore knee ( pain down the outer leg like an IT soreness) . Thoughts?

Hi Annalise Is your knee swollen? If not then I think I'd suspect on ITB issue - but bear in mind that your ITB does interconnect with a fibrous band to your lateral meniscus and so each can mimic each other, but go for a a primary ITB If you were hiking this weekend and you're knee is sore today, don't beat yourself up take some anti inflams (if you can), chuck on some ice and give it a little breather for the next 72 hours. Time can be a wonderful healer....
