Hi, I am a chronic migraine sufferer and I also have severe fibromyalgia. Iv been getting this horrendous pain in the base of my head/neck on my left side it radiates over my whole head and into my eyes.  I have problems with my back and neck alot but these recent pains are scaring me. Can you give me some advice please? Thanks

Hi Kathryn They sound very much like cervicogenic headaches (headaches related to your neck!) in fact 70% of migraines are cervicogenic in origin - so it sounds as if you've got a predictable pattern, especially with your other back and neck problems. The biggest cause of neck related head pain is posture - slouching and poking your chin out will make you worse and having good control controlled "normal" posture is a winner. You need to therefore get your mid back moving, #worldsgreateststretch plus sit up well when at work  and don't allow your chin to poke forwards for long periods during the day. Exercise is key - the more you do, the better you'll feel and it can be as simple as going for a walk or an easy gym program - just make sure you lift your chest, drop your shoulders and tuck your chin in a little. Have a go for the next week or so and see how you go. The Guru
