Six Physio teams up with The Motherhood Practice
Six Physio is teaming up with The Motherhood Practice to help women across London feel supported and cared for through every stage of pregnancy and postpartum recovery.
The Motherhood Practice offers continuous, dedicated midwife care complementary to hospital, while Six Physio provides specialist women's health physiotherapy support. Together, they’re helping women care for their bodies effectively throughout pregnancy and postpartum by making it easier to access the right specialist support, exactly when and where it’s needed.

Alexa Jovanovic, Pelvic Health Development Lead and Physiotherapist at Six Physio, said: "Midwives and physiotherapists look after very different but equally important parts of the female body. The difficulty is that women aren't always told when to reach for one over the other. A midwife for example might spot the signs of pelvic pain but isn't the one to treat it, or a physio might be treating that pain but isn't best placed to talk through birth anxiety or feeding worries. This partnership with The Motherhood Practice closes that gap.”
Through the partnership, midwives at The Motherhood Practice will refer women to Six Physio whenever physio input is needed, whether that's for pelvic pain, incontinence, back pain or something else entirely. Six Physio can then run pelvic floor check-ins around 24 to 28 weeks, and share guidance on perineal massage from around 34 to 36 weeks. After birth, Six Physio's 6-week postnatal MOT is built into The Motherhood Practice's standard care package, delivered at home wherever possible.
Similarly, if a Six Physio patient has questions that sit more naturally with a midwife, breastfeeding, gestational diabetes, birth planning, or general anxiety about what's ahead, we'll point them towards The Motherhood Practice. And we'll make sure pregnant patients know about their postpartum care package, including six midwife home visits for 6 weeks and the postnatal MOT, so nobody misses out.

Sarah Seror, CEO of The Motherhood Practice said: “Continuity is at the heart of how we work: a dedicated midwife is with a family from the very start of pregnancy, and that continuity is what makes early signs visible: a change in gait, a mention of heaviness, a question asked twice. Knowing someone well is often what makes spotting a problem possible in the first place. This partnership means that when we notice something a physio should look at, we're not just flagging it, we're handing over to someone who can act on it straightaway. That's what proper joined-up care looks like.”
