Anthony brown Patient
Hi Anthony When sitting, especially without control or stability (slouching), the intradiscal pressure in your lumbar spine discs goes up dramatically. If you’ve already got a disc type issue, where there is a slight bulge, sitting (increasing the disc pressure) will increase the bulge and make your pain worse. However, this is not the end of the world, and can be dealt with by making your thoracic spine move more and learning to control and stabilise your lumbar spine. Don’t be tempted to relieve the pain by stretching your low back as it will make you worse.
