Preventative, restorative, and everything in between
Being active puts real demands on the body. Whether you're training for a marathon, playing football at the weekend, cycling to work, or simply trying to stay moving as you get older, it’s a lot for your joints and muscles to take. You might start to feel a little tightness here, a niggle there, until one day something finally gives.
This is exactly why seeing a sports physio isn’t just about injury recovery, it’s about prevention and performance. Over 30 years, our sports physiotherapists have worked with everyone from everyday runners and gymgoers to professional Footballers and Olympians. Our approach is the same regardless of the level, get to know you and your body, address what's driving the problem, and build a personalised plan that works.

FAQs
Not at all. Sports physiotherapy isn't just for injuries. Many people come to us for biomechanical assessments to understand how their body is moving, to address an existing weakness before it becomes a problem, or to improve the way they move in their sport. If you're active and want to stay that way, a sports physio can help at any stage.
We see a wide range of sports-related conditions including muscle strains, ligament sprains, tendon injuries such as Achilles tendinopathy and patella tendinopathy, knee injuries including ACL and meniscal problems, shoulder injuries, stress fractures, and overuse injuries of all kinds. We also work with runners preparing for events including half marathons and marathons, and support people managing the physical demands of football, rugby, cycling, tennis, swimming and many other sports.
Yes. Over the years our team has worked with Olympians, professional footballers, elite runners and sportspeople across a wide range of disciplines. That experience informs how we approach every patient, regardless of their level. The detail and rigour we bring to a professional athlete's rehabilitation is exactly what we bring to someone getting back to their weekend five-a-side.
As soon as you can. Early assessment lets us understand exactly what has happened, reduces the risk of making things worse, and means we can start the right rehabilitation from the beginning. Waiting for an injury to settle on its own can sometimes extend recovery significantly. If you are in severe pain, have significant swelling, or cannot bear weight, please seek urgent medical attention first.
It depends on the nature and severity of the injury and what you are working toward. A straightforward muscle strain might need three to five sessions. A more complex injury or post-surgical rehabilitation will take longer. Your clinician will give you a realistic picture after your first assessment and will review your progress with you throughout.
No. You can book directly without a GP referral. If you are using private medical insurance, check with your insurer beforehand as some policies require a GP referral before they will cover physiotherapy treatment.
Yes. We work with most major private medical insurers. Let us know your insurer when you book and we will confirm your cover. If you are paying privately, our prices are listed on the website and your clinician will be transparent about the likely course of treatment from the outset.
