This November, Six Physio are hosting a “Men’s Pelvic Health Workshop” in Fight City Gym, Elephant Park. This is designed to open the conversation around Men’s Pelvic Health and provide clear, evidence-based education for everyone interested in understanding how the pelvic floor impacts movement, performance, and overall wellbeing.
Pelvic Health is a vital but often neglected part of men’s health. The pelvic floor supports bladder and bowel control, sexual function, and spinal stability, and it plays a key role in breathing and posture. When this system isn’t functioning properly, men may experience symptoms such as urinary leakage, pelvic or testicular pain, erectile changes, or postural imbalance — all of which can be improved with specialised physiotherapy.
Supporting Prostate Cancer UK
At Six Physio, we are proud to provide professional pelvic health support to Prostate Cancer UK, helping men affected by prostate cancer and its treatments to regain control, confidence, and quality of life.
This workshop will be led by Fran Merlo and Fran Roca, specialist physiotherapists in Men’s Health who have extensive experience in pelvic rehabilitation, post-prostate surgery recovery, and performance optimisation.
What to Expect from the Workshop
The Men’s Pelvic Health Workshop blends science, clinical insight, and practical demonstration. Participants will learn about:
- The anatomy and function of the male pelvic floor and its connection to posture, breathing, and the musculoskeletal system.
- Common pelvic dysfunctions and how to identify early signs of imbalance or overactivity.
- The use of Real-Time Ultrasound (RTUS) to visualise pelvic floor and deep core activation — a powerful biofeedback tool for assessment and training.
- Applications in sport and performance, exploring how pelvic health influences strength, endurance, and injury prevention in male athletes.
- Practical strategies for self-management, exercise, and lifestyle to maintain pelvic wellbeing across all ages.
Empowering Awareness and Action
Through this workshop, Six Physio aims to normalise the discussion about men’s pelvic health — not just as a rehabilitation topic, but as a foundation for long-term wellbeing and performance.
Together with Prostate Cancer UK, we are committed to supporting men through education, recovery, and prevention.
