During an Initial Men’s Health Assessment, you’ll sit down with one of our amazing team to find out more about your issue and get to the bottom of what’s wrong.
They’ll ask you questions about your general health, medical background and how your issue is affecting your day-to-day life, in order to diagnose the problem and inform their treatment plan.
We also use real-time ultrasound to view the pelvic floor inside the body.

The physiotherapist will determine the reason for your incontinence during the initial assessment with the ultrasound and a internal examination and then will decide which exercises you will need to carry on and which manual techniques to use/stretches if there’s a tightness issue. Education will be given regarding diet, fluid intake and toilet habits.
What exercises and techniques are typically used during male pelvic floor physiotherapy?
The physiotherapist will ask you to perform a pelvic floor contraction and relaxation and then will test your muscles endurance asking for a long contraction (holding) as well.Â

Can pelvic floor physiotherapy help with male sexual dysfunction?
Yes. The pelvic floor must be strong and elastic in men too. After the initial assessment and the history taking, your physiotherapist will understand the cause of your sexual dysfunction and prescribe specific pelvic floor exercises and relaxation/breathing techniques. These together with the correct routine modification / education will improve your symptoms.
