Early pregnancy and fitness training

January 9, 2014

Vicki asked The Guru for the following Physiotherapy Advice:

I’m about 8 weeks into training for my first half marathon which is in early March. I’ve just found out I’m 6 weeks pregnant! I had been hoping to train hard and break 2hrs.

So far I’ve not had many symptoms but am naturally slightly hypermobile and have a longstanding ITB problem in one knee.

Do you have any advice on running, training, racing or exercises to help me stay strong??

Dear Vicki

We’ve got LOADS of advice as to what to do and what not to do, especially in view of your early pregnancy.

Check out our women’s health Physiotherapy here

Camilla and Jen are the best specialist people to ask, and would only be to happy to talk to you on the phone.

Either give them a call 020 7036 0280 or email me a number and I’ll get them to call you….

Good Luck
