Long COVID Physiotherapy
Services
Physiotherapy is excellent in helping Long Covid sufferers recovery back to normal levels of health and fitness.
In clinic, at home or virtually we will devise a treatment plan to suit you.
Many people have recovered from Coronavirus but some unfortunately still continue to feel the effects of LONG COVID which can last for weeks or even months. The growing stream of evidence suggests that Physiotherapy is excellent in helping Long Covid sufferers recover back to normal levels of health and fitness.
We are well placed to help with back and shoulder pain, to deal with brain fog and encourage strategies to help with a paced return to exercise and activity.
Whether you have been hospitalised or self isolated with COVID-19 we can help you.
We have had experience with many patients suffering from loss of strength, heavy arms, tight chest, dizziness/balance issues and the inability to get back to their normal fitness levels.
We are seeing patients in clinic, at home or virtually and will devise a treatment plan to suit your needs and goals.
How our Physios can help:
Research carried out by UCL has found that patients that have had Covid-19 are continuing to experience symptoms long after their diagnosis https://www.ucl.ac.uk/news/2020/nov/majority-have-long-covid-symptoms-seven-weeks-after-discharge.
Patients are experiencing both psychological and physiological issues such as;
- Joint and muscle pains
- Reduced strength
- Affected balance
- Shortness of breath
- Reduced fitness levels
- Fatigue and depression
The journey back to fitness after such illness can be somewhat daunting. At Six Physio we are here to help deal with the problems which can present with Long Covid, however, we don’t have any physios who dedicate all of their time to this form of rehab.
At your first appointment we will complete a full assessment, listen to your individual goals and construct a bespoke program for you. We will support you through the entire journey:
- Supervised rehab program
- Strength and conditioning
- Stretch and mobility exercises
- Advice on pacing (the dosing of exercise throughout the day to maintain an even level of activity that is achievable)
