Hello,
I have Sciatica Pain in my lower back and left leg, I am on medication for this but was also advised to go to see a Physio. Is it possible that a sports massage/deep tissue massage would help this in your opinion? If so, would I be able to get a massage to focus only on the painful area and what would the cost be for this?
Kind Regards,
Charlene

Hi Charlene
It depends on what you’re looking for – It may well make you feel better, but I’d be staggered if it helped you in the medium/long term and gave you a resolution to your sciatica.
Passive treatment (someone pushing you around, giving pills etc) is never a (cheaper) solution for something that needs active/rehab management.
I’m sure I could “sell” you lots of SM sessions, but I just don’t think that’s right – have a look here https://www.youtube.com/user/sixphysio I’m sure you can help yourself do something about it. Physio will give you an extra leg up and make the rehab more specific, and ultimately give you all the tools you need to manage your symptoms for today, and tomorrow.
