Broken bones just have to wait

Julie asked The Guru for the following Physiotherapy Advice:

i broke my ankle in june it then rebroke in november ive had a ct scan and it shows that the bone hasnt completely healed they now want to wait til may to see if it heals.

ive been told i can go back to work on light duties but have to be careful with what i do. my physio wants me to do some running but he doesnt want to see me again. i really need advice on what i should or shouldnt be doing to prevent it breaking again if it doesnt heal by may they are considering breaking the ankle again and putting pins in.

please help

Hi Julia

…..this is kind of opposite ends of the scale. Light duties and running are not normally in the same ball park.

First up is what do you do and what is meant by light duties?

Secondly, what has broken and where is the break? Age is pretty important too…

Have you been in the pool or on a bike?

Give me some more details and The Guru will try to give more concise advice.
