Painful knuckle

March 16, 2019

I have had some pain in my knuckle, between my index and middle finger on my right hand. It is not constant but i feel the pain every time i hold a bag, a cup, lift the kettle etc and its been ongoing for a while now.

I just wondered what i could do about this, if anything?

Hi Jasmine

On the face of it, it does sounds a little like arthritis – and I really don’t like that word for all the wrongly associated negatives that goes with it.

You may find that it gets worse with the cold and little activity like first thing in the morning and better with heat and movement.

So keep it moving and don’t worry about it. As a rule the stronger you are in your wrist and arm the better you feel.

If things do get worse then we can look at a slightly more invasive route.
