My mother suffers from frozen shoulder, torn ligaments in her shoulder. In Canada she had various physiotherapy and recalls the most beneficial to her for pain relief and improved motility was the deepheating from the ultrasound. Do you practice using it?
Thanks

Hi Katie
Thankfully no!
It’s frightfully old fashioned, has pretty much zero evidence to back it and wrongly suggests the idea that you can “speed up” healing times, which you can’t.
It’s worrying that your Ma could feel it heating her up – that should never be the case as she’s being cooked!
It’s great your Mother felt better, but I’d question whether it’s the therapeutic effect of ultrasound.
Most UK based Physios can do pretty handy stuff using hands on treatments and rehabilitation to get a better, longer lasting effect.
Good luck.
