Breastfeeding support that meets you where you are
Breastfeeding asks a great deal, and when something isn't working the way you hoped, it can feel isolating and disheartening in a way that's hard to explain to anyone who hasn't been there.
A lot of what brings women to us wasn't in the antenatal classes. The engorgement that arrives with the milk and makes latching feel impossible. The blocked duct that won't clear, the ache in your neck and shoulders that's quietly built into something you can't ignore. Our clinicians see all of it, and know how to help.
We use therapeutic ultrasound, massage, manual therapy, and hands-on guidance on how you and your baby are feeding together, working through whatever's going on and making sure you leave with the tools to keep things on track between sessions. Small adjustments to positioning alone can change how feeding feels entirely, and for a lot of women, that's where it starts.
If you need additional support beyond what we offer, we can refer you to our network of lactation consultants. You won't be left to figure it out alone.

FAQs
Physiotherapy helps with breastfeeding by relieving painful conditions like engorgement, mastitis and blocked ducts, and addressing the back, neck and shoulder pain that builds from weeks of sustained feeding. We use therapeutic ultrasound, massage, manual therapy, and hands-on guidance during a feed to work through whatever's going on and help the whole experience feel more manageable.
Come and see one of our breastfeeding specialists as soon as something doesn't feel right. Blocked ducts and engorgement respond best to early treatment, and the sooner we can work with you on positioning, the sooner feeding becomes more comfortable for both you and your baby. You don't need to have reached a point of significant pain or difficulty before you come in so if something feels off, that's enough of a reason.
Home exercises are a key part of most physiotherapy programmes. Your physiotherapist will prescribe exercises appropriate to your condition and ensure you know how to perform them correctly.
